His big band \u2013 which included Sal Nistico, Herb Geller, Dusko Gojkovic, Rick Keefer, Ferdinand Povel, Herman Schoonderwalt, Rob Langereis, Wim Overgaauw, Ack van Rooyen,\u00a0Charlie Mariano, etc. \u2013 opened the first North Sea Jazz Festival in Holland.\u00a0Reconstructed the famous Miles Davis \u201cBirth of the Cool\u201d sessions for Dutch radio in 1985.\u00a0Was the first in Holland to introduce jazz music into the domain of the classical music schools and conservatories in the seventies.
